• First and foremost, we must fully fund local aid, especially for education. The Governor’s current budget proposal level-funds local aid through closing tax loopholes, while the bill produced by the House Ways & Means committee falls short. If elected state rep, I will vote to fully fund Chapter 70 education funding for the next budget, because our children deserve better teacher ratios and high quality learning materials.
  • Our cash-strapped municipalities are having a tough time supporting regional school systems, particularly when it comes to transportation. I will educate my Eastern Mass colleagues on the needs of our rural school districts and support additional local aid to offset the high costs of school transportation in rural communities
