Issues
The Economy
If big banks aren’t going to lend money to invest in new enterprises—despite massive hand-outs at the federal level—we can and must take it upon ourselves as a Commonwealth to spur the economy through cooperative and small business job creation.
Education
Education isn’t just an issue—it’s an investment, which is why I believe we must fully fund local aid and fairly cover school transportation costs in rural communities.
The Environment
I will work to expand recycling programs, and wind and solar energy options. I also oppose large, inefficient Biomass plants (which burns wood and debris) in favor of biodiesel (which converts vegetable matter into energy).
Agriculture
I will support our farmers who deliver the food to our tables, and remind Beacon Hill that agriculture is just as important as biotech.
Internet Access for All
Having worked for the telecom industry, I will work to bring the dozens of communities currently without broadband “up to high speed” along with the Eastern part of the state.
Good Governance And Taxes
We need a State House that is responsive to regular people’s needs, not entrenched interests. That means transparency in budgeting, a fairer tax structure, and public campaign financing that will increase competition and allow regular citizens the opportunity to succeed.
